Helping out?

Maybe this is addressed somewhere but I have not seen it and was thinking. Besides helping people which was very happy to see last night for proto-ultima. But what is really the point in coming to a run and spending 30k where all I am going to get out of it some XP loss?

I know its set so you can't lot unless you attend 50%+ of the limbus runs on both cycles but would it not make sense for the people that get nothing for ultima or omega to get like 2-3 runs counted as to help encourage people to come. Plus in the back of my mind I am low on gil and to shell out 30k just to help out is kinda like eh. (For me personally I am broke from lvling rng)

I personally don't mind helping but as it seems to me and I think spit would agree it was like he had to twist some arms to get enough people to come and do proto-ultima. Kinda feel that way about lots of things but can only address one thing at a time. Just trying to think of ways to try and not make it so hard to get people to help out. Sorry if I missed something that addresses this. Just trying to think of ways so its not so much like pulling teeth to get people to help out.

Again sorry for stirring the pot but I think it would help growth.

If there's any concern other than the 30k gil fee, then it could be said about any event we do (XP loss??? what did ppl join an HNM shell for if they are scared of that). If the concern is just the 30k gil fee, then maybe we can think of some ideas that could net us cash to use in this manner and we could do as an LS. I definitely don't agree with letting ppl miss all the chip farming and then lot on the boss gear...

Me personally, I was coming to help, but arrived late & parties were full.

Lotting is fair as is, to lot you need to attend.

Spending the gil has always been the hold up for many. Perhaps we can come up with a fund for just paying fees on the boss runs. Perhaps beefing up our LS fund?

As I see it, the chip runs have the side benefit of coins to sell and AF upgrade peices.

I've been doing every ultima/omega i've been on for, and I have jobs that can use both sets of gear, yet I haven't recieved one item from either. That won't stop me from helping everyone else get theirs though. Sure, i'd love to have some homam or some nashira. And yes, paying 30k to get "nothing" in return, other than seeing your ls mates get gear...well, yeah. That's what we do though, we help each other out. When you've earned the right to lot, everyone else will pay their 30k to help you get yours as well. If you're smart enough, you can con people into "sponsoring" you to go, that way when 5 coins drop and 18 people random for it you MIGHT get 10k for a coin, so it's only a 20k loss for the person sponsoring you!

If you do all the limbus runs, and average 4coins per run, thats 40k right there. So, you get 10k per run, and in 3 runs you can afford to do the bosses!

ps: haku, you owe me 30k for helping you get MY NASHIRA LEGS

Maybe it is just me then unless some people do feel that way and just aren't speaking up. I don't have a problem speaking up.

My suggestion for getting credit for boss runs benny is only for people who can't win anything from one or the other. Not every boss run counts as two runs. And only if you are not benifiting in anyway by helping. That way if something in RL came up you aren't getting completely screwed over and have to wait 2 months to be able to lot anything cause of a missed run. (not trying to make it so you can come 20% and lot but that way you can miss one extra run and still lot.)

Also our runs go under our main/secondary picks. But for the people that go with negatron that isn't the case. Not sure if this is flexable or not to decide to want narsh gear even if your main and secondary fall under homem. Of course there would still have to be a lock in time to be fair to everyone else. And this isn't for myself as I would rather have homem but again throwing ideas out to try and make everyone happy.
Not in anyway saying I think it should be changed.

I like the idea for somehow setting gil on the side to help with boss fights sass. Not sure how that would work though.

All this was just how I was feeling myself and the vibe I was getting off of a lot of other members and from how yel was feeling considering she was sitting next to me at the time of the run.

Not trying to shake things up or cause problems just trying to think if there is a better way then how things are being run now. I also think other events are suffering benny. But I also came into the shell after the whole taj hack and server move and I am sure the LS is still feeling effects from that.

Sorry if this is shaking things up. Not my intention in anyway. Just trying to make things more fun for everyone. If no one else sees any problems then just forget I said anything. It just didn't feel that way last night.

Idea just came to me. How does everyone feel about instead of /randoming the extra coins that they go to be bazzared and then are used to fund the boss fights?

That way it isn't just luck if you keep winning an extra coin or getting screwed over by having dynamis lots. That way people would be more inclined to help and its even across the board.

Speaking for myself, Limbus typically has no cost to a small profit if I choose to sell my coins. In all runs except bosses, I get 2-8 coins, depending on the area, most often being 3-4. I sell for 12k when I don't need them and average about 50k/run which covers my entrance fees for all limbus + bosses and then some. If I choose to keep the coins I'm still getting something for my time/gil aside from the occasional AF+1 item. I don't mind 1-2 boss runs/month where I don't profit so long as I see some of my LS mates come away with something nice. What annoys me is when we screw up/do something stupid and lose a boss run we should be winning every time, only because I know we can.

I'm not claiming to be the most active Limbus attendee, I can normally only make half of the runs due to RL stuff.

One possible idea would be if you want items from Ultima/Omega then you don't get to lot coins on the chip farming runs beforehand.

That might be a bit harsh as well, but that would provide incentive to people to help out at all of them and the cost would be more on those that actually desire items from one or the other.

Just throwing that out there, not sure how good or bad an idea it would really be.

That pretty much eradicates any cost recovery at all and would only exacerbate the problem most people have with paying for Limbus.

I see the rationale, but it would be hard on those who aren't high up the lotting list. Especially because when we start the chip farming, there's no telling for sure who will be lotting or not (they may miss 1/2 the runs later). People could pass on chip farming coins and then not be high enough on the lotting list to win. Or they could take coins because they're low on the list and then end up in a position where they could have lotted (people don't show, etc.).

I think someone may have mentioned something like this, but I am too lazy to go back and read through it.

People pay their own fees, but we then sell all coins through the LS. And at the end of any given cycle return what sales proceeds we can divided among those who participated, and if somebody actually wins a piece that cycle they don't get any reimbursement.

Problem with this is I really don't know how 'easy' it is to sell coins.

thats kinda harash. ok, in nega we do it as you can lott either nash or homan as long as you have a job at 75 that can use. you pick one or the other when you join, but can change set after 8 months. as for coins, we always divide them up, i personally average enough coins to break even after boss fights. as i would tell people in my ls, if you cant afford to lose a little money here and there, maybe limbus is not for you. at the end of the day, your gonna pay something to get nash or homan gears, nothing is free.

My suggestion was just to sell the extra coins. How we do it now is everyone gets even split then we random and whoever wins the random gets the coins.

Instead of randoming we just take those extra coins and sell them then use that money towards boss fights. People then have less reason to try and hide from boss fight just cause they won't get anything out of it. Plus you don't get people getting extra/screwed out of the extra coins at the end of run.

The problem is we won't sell enough to cover everyone. How do you determine who gets covered and who doesn't? Who's poorest? Who can lot? In general it could get pretty resent ridden.

But what is really the point in coming to a run and spending 30k where all I am going to get out of it some XP loss?
So when it's your turn, they'll show up for you. That's what it means to be part of a linkshell. You could be brutally honest and say it's not joy of helping others. It's paying for the guarantee of their assistance at a later time. I prefer the warm fuzzy version myself.

If you have gil issues, ask if someone can sponsor. If it's a larger problem where quite a few of us are broke (as I'm hearing more, and now I am too) let's set up some BS/KS/IS-NM runs to help members out.

Selling off those extra coins is still going to come a long way from a boss fight.

An 18 person boss fight costs

540,000

Would need to sell 54 coins, more or less, to cover an entire boss fight. I'm not even sure how quickly and reliably that can be sold or where they are all going to come from unless you are taking a large amount of coins from every single run.

Qft. Almost everything we do as an LS costs those who don't benefit directly from the event something. Limbus may have a direct cost, but someone could EASILY make over 30k in just telewhoring if they skipped out on a 3 hour Fafnir camp. So who's to say camping Fafnir doesn't cost them even more than those attending Limbus?

Even if it cuts the cost down so its only 10k would encourage more people to come and less stressful.

I don't mind helping in any which way with anything. People just need to ask and I will help. I love seeing friends get the gear they want.

But also for me and it felt like others also I was really debating about coming at all considering I have been to every other run so lotting homam when we get around to doing omega isn't a issue as I would have only missed 2 runs over all if I don't miss any others. And grinding rng has left me with almost no gil other wise I wouldn't be debating about not coming to help out in limbus. (just using this as personal real exsample)

If the cost is cut down it would allow less people to try and avoid helping. Like I said probably 10 times now. Just trying to think of ways to help. Not trying to change anything if no one else sees a problem.
