| Honestly? I loved the story, but I HATED the pacing. The amount of "go here and talk to X, they can help us", but then X has problems Y and Z that need hefty trekking to do is way, WAY too much. Still, I liked the premise of having to stop internal Eorzean issues of the Primals being summoned by the beastmen, and the Ascians doing sneaky magic stuff. ARR's story would hold up well as a single player standalone RPG too, and I can see how FF16 draws a lot from 14. Even 16's main story has a lot of "talk to X, but solve their problems Y and Z before they can help you" structure, minus the hefty trekking. Anyway, onto post-ARR and Heavensward! submitted by /u/ThespianMask [link] [comments] |
