Please help someone with arthritis :-) (Controller setup/ideas)

Edit: Can someone who downvoted this topic tell me why? Did I ask this in the wrong section? I heard the FF14 community is supposed to be very open-minded and I'm hoping this isn't because a casual with chronic finger inflammation asks for help and ideas from people who spent years perfecting their hotbars?!

Hey there! :-)

Maybe you can help me, I'm looking for a comfortable controller setup. I'm relatively new (played once until Endwalker, then stopped for 2 years and now I'm replaying it with a new character because I'm here for the story and casual dungeon content). I'm mainly playing BM (and some WM but BM is more important - it's the class I play the game for bc. of the power fantasy).

At the end of Endwalker I had to stop because I was binging the game and my hands hurt + I think my controller setup could have been more ideal.

Something I didn't utilize was the "Mixed" setting for the hotbars. During dungeons in small burts holding the triggers L1/R1 to access hotbars is practical - if I'd do that constantly even during "normal battles" (only specifically one enemy or a group on screen as I divide hotbar sides between singletarget and aoe) it'd put some needless strain on my fingers.

Only issue: The mixed setting (or "Toggle") don't go together with the hotbars you can bring up by doubletapping R1 or L1. You can however still use the ones you get by pressing L1->R1 or R1->L1 which is great. I'd like to keep both combinations on the same hotbar as this would mean I can just press them together (R1+L1) and always get the same hotbar (the system can't read the input wrong).

This leaves me with 3 easily accessable hotbars (L1 / R2 / L1+R2) which results in 24 slots. That sounds great but we all know how many buttons you need even at the end of Endwalker (+ one slot needs to be running/ 1 slot is mount / maybe one teleport or whatever).

I also found out this nifty trick of adding another hotbar I don't need above my hotbars only too see the skills on cooldown (I love that so much).

So is there another clever way to get me maybe 1-2 more hotbars somehow? Best I came up with was holding R2 and switching between specific hotbar sets for skills on very long cooldowns!? I'd be an idea to switch between just 2 sets (so I only have 2 sets of hotbars BUT because I use my "cooldown-hotbar" to see cooldowns I can't add any to those or they'd show on that cooldown hotbar. Leaving them seperate would mean R2 pushes needed to switch between 3 sets of hotbars however which is less ideal again.

Sry for this rambling :-D FF14 is amazing but such a long adventure that I'd like to implement a finger-friendly system right from the start which gets me through the game in a comfortable way with minimal strain.

Maybe you have some other ideas?

Thanks a lot <3
